Glacier Aviation Consulting was founded in 2019, shortly after the closure of WOW air. At the time, I had been serving as Director of Flight Safety & Compliance Monitoring, responsible for oversight across AOC, CAMO, and Part-145 operations. That role, along with many before it, showed me how important it is to bridge the gap between regulation and real-world ops.

 

Over the past 25+ years, I’ve held roles as a Flight Operations Inspector at the Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration, Postholder for Flight Operations, and Compliance, Safety, and Security Manager for airlines and CAMOs. I’ve also served as Compliance Manager for a Part-145 Line Station and for Approved Training Organizations (ATOs). I’ve worked across regulatory systems based on EASA, ICAO, and IOSA frameworks, and have supported multiple AOC and CAMO certification processes from initial application to final approval in two countries.

GAC reflects that full-scope experience.

 

In addition to specialized training such as Accident Investigation for Airline Management at Cranfield University, I maintain current qualifications through regular continuation training — including auditing techniques, EASA regulatory updates, Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety, EWIS, and more. I also teach Air Law to student pilots at ATOs and currently represent the Icelandic Travel Industry Association on the Expert Council on Aviation under Iceland’s Ministry of Infrastructure.

 

So why “Glacier”? The company is named after Snæfellsjökull, my favorite Icelandic glacier — strong, distinct, and always visible when the skies are clear. That’s the goal with GAC too: to offer support that is steady, clear, and rooted in the real landscape of aviation.
